I guess if that laboratory is going to be used for sample analysis, then the Lab Head cannot sit as a voting member on the ethics committee for this study, isn't it? Senior members can comment and help to resolve this interesting query.

Dear ,
We are using the central lab not the local lab but the CV of the local lab head person  we are providing  .

If the Lab head is not a part of the study team, why should there be a problem of he/she being a voting member of the EC for your study. Please some senior members throw some more light on this.

If lab head if part of study team, whether or not lab samples are going to be analysed in central lab or local lab, he should not be there as voting member. He may be present during ethics committee meeting in discussions, but should not vote. As per all standard local as well as international guidelines , ethics committee voting members must be free[not having any interest i.e. financial or any kind of relationship] of sponsor as well as investigator or his team.
